Fox Squirrel

This Eastern Fox Squirrel sciurus niger hangs on the side of a live large oak tree.. In the southeastern states the squirrel can be black with a white face. Although cute, they are related to rats and they can stash nuts like the best of them. ~ thanks to Dr T. To see video click here.

Rabbit In Tulips

As I walked out to bring in the refuse containers (garbage cans to some of us), I noticed that the sun had created a shadow of the tulips to give the white rabbit one to hold.

Stork In The Wind

A sea bird flew close but swiftly by on a windy night. I turned quick and followed the bird with the camera. This created a cool movement effect on the tree tops. It is traveling to the left.

Linda Turns 60 Video

Linda turns 60 VideoHappy 60th Linda!

Mildred Ripley coined it best, “Linda is our little angel”. Linda, God has blessed us with you and this is for you.

I had compiled about a dozen old hit songs from back in the day, but due to the huge response of voice messages and in order to keep the file a reasonable size - the music will wait for another day. ;-)

You have so many friends and people that love you - here’s proof! Happy 60th Birthday La Linda!

Comments welcome and thank you to everyone!

Snow Drop

Cicadas do not bite or sting, are benign to humans, and are not considered a pest. Many people around the world regularly eat cicadas: the female is prized as it is meatier. Cicadas have been (or are still) eaten in Ancient Greece, China, Malaysia, Burma, Latin America and the Congo.

the day the music died

Posted by Ben on February 3rd, 2008

Buddy Holly dies today in HistoryOn this day 49 years ago, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson rising American rock stars are killed when their chartered plane crashes in Iowa a few minutes after takeoff from Mason City on a flight headed for Moorehead, Minnesota. Investigators blamed the crash on bad weather and pilot error. Holly and his band, the Crickets, had just scored a No. 1 hit with “That’ll Be the Day.”

After mechanical difficulties with the tour bus, Holly had chartered a plane for his band to fly between stops on the Winter Dance Party Tour. However, Richardson, who had the flu, convinced Holly’s band member Waylon Jennings to give up his seat, and Ritchie Valens won a coin toss for another seat on the plane. read more.. (Lesson: if you are sick with the flu, stay in bed.)
